Wedding Parties With Alcohol
As-Salamu Alaykum Dear Scholars, My question involves wedding parties. Even though my family is Muslim, my wife and I are the only ones that truly practice the religion, Alhamdulillah. It has become a bad custom among Albanian Muslim wedding parties to have alcohol at the party. I feel that I should not attend any parties that have alcohol present. My parents and family feel that I should attend out of respect and just not drink. Disagreeing with them has become a headache but I still feel that I should not attend these functions. I feel that if I do attend the functions means that I am agreeing it is okay to have alcohol at parties as long as you don't drink. What should I do? Thank you!
