Determining the Financial Capacity to Perform Hajj
As-salaam alaikum, I have been reading hajj is obligatory to one who is "ABLE TO" perform it, OR "physically and financially CAPABLE OF performing Hajj"! I'm more interested in the financial "capability" would like to know if there are any criteria in the sharia/sunna (except for debt status) which i can use to determine my financial capacity to perform hajj? By criteria I'm mean something (though maybe not as precise but) similar to that of income zakath, where by I'm obliged to pay zakath if i meet a certain criteria. So, how do I know if I am capable and thus hajj is obligatory on me now?
