Respected scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. One of the most important problems that face the second and third generations of French Muslims in understanding the Glorious Qur'an is not being able to understand Arabic. Most of these generations expressed their willingness to react with the Qur'an and thus some suggested that imams in some mosques should recite the Qur'an in French during Tarawih Prayers so that the praying Muslims could understand the recitation. Is this permissible and does it affect the validity of Prayer? Jazakum Allahu khayran.
