Is Fasting Six Days of Shawwal Discouraged?
What do you think of fasting six days after Ramadan in the month of Shawwal? Some people claim that it is stated in many religious references that no scholar or jurist fasted these days or even heard of any of the Salaf (early Muslims) doing that, and that the scholars regarded that as makruh (disliked) and feared that it was a bid`ah (innovation). Could you please shed some light on the issue?
