Can I enter ihram (state of consecration) at Jeddah airport or do I have to enter ihram at my home in Karachi? The total journey time is about 9 to 10 hours, including 2 hours to the airport, 4 hours from Karachi to Jeddah, 2 hours at Jeddah airport, plus 2 hours to Makkah. Frankly speaking, I am concerned about the cleanliness of the ihram attire after a 10-hour journey. I think I should put on the ihram at Jeddah airport to ensure it is clean on arrival at Al-Masjid Al-Haram.

Firstly is it permissable to change into ihraam whilst on the plane? Secondly can one delay praying the 2 rakah/making intention/reading talbiyah until landing at Jeddah. I understand MEEKAT is reached 20mins prior to landing at Jeddah travelling from London. Lastly what is the best method of locating Hajrul Aswad to commence TAWAAF? JAZAK-ALLAH

Could you please explain the meaning of ihram for Hajj and when it becomes due. Should a person enter ihram at a particular place or when he starts his journey?

A man traveled from his country to Jeddah, intending to perform Hajj and `Umrah, but he did not enter ihram from the miqat, instead he entered ihram in the airport at Jeddah. What is the ruling?

Asak, I had to travel from Atlanta to India. But one of my friends suggested that I should make a stop over at Jeddah and apply for transit visa for Saudi. I took his advice and applied and alhmd. i got the transit visa. But during this process (as everything happened last minute) I delayed making aggrangements for Ihram for me and my Family and I tried to find them and inquired with my friends and family if they had any Ihrams. But none of this gave any results. I had no choice to proceed without Ihram for jeddah. But after reaching Jeddah, I bought ahram there and wore it. Just to let you the main intention for the stop over at jeddah was Umrah. Do I have to give Dumm for my mistake?? Please advice me. Thank You
