menstruating

As salam alaikum.the question is regarding the the monthly menses of a woman, sir if a woman ends  her bleeding on the third day and if she takes the ghusl on the fourth day and have an sexual intercourse on the fifth day is it permissible sir ?

is there any merit in performing wudu during mensus and is it ok to read duas and surahs over the children during this time

My wife started bleeding on Friday and her period normally lasts 5-7 days, she stopped bleeding on Sunday but had a slight discharge, On Monday morning she had a shower and did not bleed for the whole day. We had sexual relations on Monday night. Were we correct in having relations or did we commit a sin, If we were wrong what should we do to avoid this in the future and how can we make up for it?
