Does Islam Recognize Marriage Ceremony?
Salam Aleykum,I?m getting done Nikah in next few weeks and both parties (bride, groom and families) already mutually agreed.according with our local traditions the Nikah ceremony is holding at bride?s place with no requirements for groom presence or groom staying in different separate room. Normally Imam is doing the ceremony and is asking her 3 times if she agree with that in presence of walid. It is a very special moment for us and both we want and agreed to do it in my presence (same room) or just visually separated and eventually Imam to ask me as well. I?d like to know if it is permissible according Islam rules/guidelines to do the ceremony together in same room or is just a local tradition?Thanks,
