Making Will on Estate Distribution
As-Salaam `Alaykum, brother in Islam: I would like to know the ruling in the following case of inheritance. My father in-law had a property ( a house) in U.S.A and before he died, left a will for his heirs (2 sons & 2 daughters and a wife) in which he instructed that after his and his wife's death this property should be divided equally among his all 4 children. To my knowledge, leaving a will for the heirs is not permitted in Islamic Shar`iah. His sons are taking the stand to distribute this property according to the will. Please give your advice and the correct ruling in this matter, my wife and myself fear Allah and do not wish to disobey His commands. We will appreciate your response, may Allah reward you in this world and the Hereafter! Ameen. Jazakum Allahu Khairan.
