As-salamu `alaykum. Would you please shed some light on the issue of chocolate liquor? It is a major ingredient in many chocolates used for both cooking and eating. Is chocolate liquor alcohol, or is it permissible? I have the same question for vanilla extract. My Muslim friends say that regarding this as liquor is too far-fetched, because it would be impossible to make a chocolate cake without it! Assalam alaikum, my husband and I are looking to move to a bigger house as we are expecting.We found a house on second floor of a building and the owner runs a liquor and pharmacy store in the first floor.The house has a separate entrance.Is it permissible to stay on rent in this house?

If you own a property in a non-Muslim country, are you allowed to rent it to a liquor store?
