Legal Divorce vs. Islamic Divorce
Dear sheikh, as-salamu `alaykum. If a man has given a woman a legal divorce (i.e., signed divorce papers) but not an Islamic divorce, is her marriage still valid? What should a woman do if her husband refuses to divorce her according to the Islamic Shari`ah?
