Are We Accounted for Our Inner Thoughts?
Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I have some queries I hope you can answer. In the Qur'an, (2: 284), Almighty Allah says: (Whether ye make known what is in your minds or hide it, Allah will bring you to account for it.< span>)On the other hand, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has forgiven my followers the evil thoughts that occur to their minds, as long as such thoughts are not put into action or uttered." This was reported in the Al-Bukhari and Muslim.hence, I'd like to know how can we address the contradiction between the verse and the hadith. Was that verse abrogated? Finally, under what circumstances are we accounted for our thoughts? Jazakum Allah khayran
