Are Men Responsible for the Cost of Their Wives’ Hajj?
As-Salamu `alaykum! I have some gold jewelry which I do not wear, the value of which should be enough to pay for my expense for hajj. I do not have any income source except for the allowance I receive from my husband. Is it obligatory for me to perform hajj? If so, what should I do if my husband can not afford to go for Hajj now? On a separate but relevant note, is it permisible to adopt birth control because of my intention to perform hajjnext year? Especially, if I feel that having a baby will negatively affect the level of devotion needed for hajj.also my husband may be able to accompany me then insha'allah.Please can you advise on this issues with relevant references from Qura'n and Hadith?
