Did the Prophet beat or push his wives?
Assalaamu Alaikum WaRahmutllah Wa BrakatahuDear respected scholars, I would like to ask some questions regarding Hadith that came up when I was having a discussion with a non-Muslim, I was not able to provide a complete answer so I was hoping you could help:1) Bukhari Book 4, Number 2127 Kitab Al-Salat (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/muslim/004.smt.html#004.2127): The Prophet (PBUH) struck Aisha and caused her pain, does this not go against the other Hadith where the Prophet discouraged wife beating? 2) Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 261 (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/052.sbt.html): The Prophet (PBUH) ordered a group of murders to be tortured (hands and feet cut off and hot nails placed across their eyes) 3) Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book Book 38 Number 4348 (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/abudawud/038.sat.html#0384348.): The Prophet (PBUH) absolved a man who killed his mother after she repeatedly slandered the prophet (PBUH)I would also like your view on the only current complete translation of Bukhairi Hadith by Dr. Muhsin Khan, how close is it to the Arabic? and in particular what can we do to explain such ?controversial? Hadith in a way appreciated by non-Muslims?
