hellfire

Sallam mu alay kum Sheikh. My question for you is, Is it true that every one goes to hell for a certain time but those who are pius won't feel the effects of it?

Respected scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. I have read a Hadith in which Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) states that Allah, Exalted be He, will forgive all people except the Kuffar (unbelievers) and those who commit sins openly. I want to ask whether the one who commits sins openly and tells his friends about them be doomed to the Hell-Fire forever or will he enter Paradise after being subject to punishment in the Hell-Fire. Does this ruling apply to both major and minor sins alike? Jazakum Allah khayran.
