Pronoun ‘He’ Referring to Allah in the Qur’an
Assalamu Alaikum. As we know, the Quran is the direct speech of Allah (SWT) to humankind. This is very obvious when many verses refer to Allah (SWT) from the first-person (i.e., "I"/"We" etc). However, there are also many verses where Allah (SWT) is referred to in the third-person (e.g., "He"/"Allah"). Why is this? Is it still Allah speaking? Or is it angel Gabriel speaking (of course, being inspired by Allah(SWT)?). I hope you can clarify this question. Thank you & Assalamu Alaikumnote: I am not saying nor do I believe that Quran is from Gabriel. I just want to know why third-person is used in some of the verses instead of first-person.
