Is Backbiting Non-Muslims Permissible?
As-Salamu alaykum dear Scholars,I hope your fine. I have two questions to aks.1. I read from Sheikh Muhammad Salih al-Munajjid (a saudi scholar) that it is permissable to backbite a kafir, that confuses me - is that really true?And the second question is about a hadeeth which I also read on his website. According to (14/148) of Muslim, the prophet (sas) said, ?Do not initiate the greeting of salaam with the Jews and Christians, and if you meet one of them on the road, push him to the narrowest part of it.?Should we really be that harsh to the people of the book or to unbelievers?Wa salamu alaykum and thanks to your answer
