Being a translator for foreign troops in an Islamic country: Permissible?
I would like you to clarify whether or not it is lawful to work for the American troops occupying Iraq in the field of translation or in any other field. The Muslims who work for the American troops in Iraq vary in their justifications in this regard; some say they are trying to improve their financial status and others say they are trying to help the Muslims by working with the Americans. What is the Islamic point of view in this regard?I would like you to bear in mind that there are almost no opportunities for work since the Americans occupied Iraq. I am responsible for a family of eight. I lost my job because of the occupation and at the same time the expenses of the family are increasing.
