Means For Expiating Sins
Dear scholars, As-Salaam `Alayk um. I have a friend who came to me for help about an issue she's been struggling with. She is a good person but went astray in her life out of ignorance and temptations. She didn't do many wrong things but she feels guilty and wants to get closer to God and Islam. Al-Hamdulillah she always prays, fasts during Ramadan and reads the Qur'an but she's afraid of getting weak and having the devil play with her mind. She wants to know first, what can she do for God to forgive her and wipe her sins away? And how she can get closer to God and keep evil and the devil away? I know that when the wrong happens we have to repent and stay away from such evil doings. But I don't know what else I can say to her, if there are other things she should do or say please provide me with that information. Thank you and may Allah bless you all. Jazakum Allah khayran.
