Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. When should Muslims start takbir on the days of Dhul-Hijjah, and what is the exact wording transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this regard? Jazakum Allah khayran.

I want to know whether it is obligatory on all Muslims to sacrifice an animal on `Eid Al-Adha, or is it obligatory only upon the pilgrims and a Sunnah for the rest of the Ummah?

Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum! I have the habit of fasting every Thursday and it so happened that I fasted on Thursday, 12 Dhul-Hijjah. The next day I heard that it is not permissible to fast on the Days of Tashreeq (11, 12, and 13 Dhul-Hijjah). That Thursday that I fasted was one of the Days of Tashreeq. Is there any sin on me if I fasted that day? Is it true that it is not permissible to fast on the Days of Tashreeq or should we avoid fasting only on the first day of `Eid? Jazakum Allah khayran.

This is a really stupid question, but I heard a 4-minute "Takbir" somewhere online. I read that Takbir was just the phrase "Allahu-Akbar", but am now a little confused. What, generally speaking, is Takbir?

As we prepare ourselves for this feast, I wonder if many Muslims ever know the significance of this feast. Kindly enlighten us on the real meaning of `eid to Muslims. What does `eid mean for Muslims? Salam Alaykum,I want to know about the takbirs in the Eid prayer; why do Hanafi school of thoughts do 6 takbirs in the Eid prayer and where do they get their evidence for doing this 6 takbirs?Jazakallah!
