Culling a Species and Regulating Its Population
Assalam Alikum !Dear scholars of Islam ...Recently, Canada (my country) has sparked worlwide outrage over its stance on seal hunting. The problem is that there are too many seals and they are depleting the fish stocks. My question is the following :is it halal to cull a species to regulate its population ? If so, could you provide evidence from Quran and the Sunnah of the prophet ( May peace be upon him).if not, what would be the right (halal) way of dealing with such a problem ?Thank you very much !allah maakum !
