Asking people for help: Contradicts true belief?
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I have two questions on issues that are confusing me. First, I know that it is haram to ask for help from someone other than Almighty Allah; please explain this to me as I am confused. For example, if I do not understand my homework, is it haram to ask someone to help me? Also, if my child is ill and I ask the doctor to help by prescribing medicine, is this haram?Second, is it haram to say thank you to people as I know all good things come from Allah alone and no one else? For example, if I am very thirsty and have no money to buy water, and I ask my friend to buy it for me and she does, if I thank her for it, have I committed a sin? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.
