Separation Before the Consummation of Marriage
Assallamu Alikeum! I would like a fatwah on the following topic -My son married a little over a year ago and his wife was not able to consummate the marriage - Through many efforts they tried to resolve the issue, including doctors and sheiks, to no avail. My son requested a divorce on the grounds that his wife was unable to let him sleep with her. Now she is requesting her dowry in full and "nafaka" - does she have any rights to these, or does my son have the right to request back the gold, money, etc.... that he spent on her, or that we spent on her? I would appreciate a complete answer as soon as possible.Sallamu Alikeum.
