Civil marriage in the west
Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Is the civil marriage conducted in Western and European countries valid from a Shari`ah point of view? Is it permissible for the Muslim couple to enjoy conjugal rights due to this marriage and what are the restrictions regarding it? Jazakum Allah khayran.
