I am an American Muslim. As you probably know, there is a lot of controversy and media attention surrounding Mel Gibson's new film, "The Passion of the Christ." Even as a Muslim, I went and saw this movie so that I could understand the religious fever it is causing among Christians here in the United States. I imagine it will have the same effect on Christians around the world.The film is truly horrible in its violence and duplication of the Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him). I have searched online for a Muslim response to this film, but as yet I have not found one. I promise that this film has in no way made me question my faith as a Muslim, but I would like a Muslim scholar to respond to this film. I think it would be beneficial for your online readers to hear/read about Islam's belief concerning Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him). Thank you for your attention.
