Keeping birds as pets, permissible?
Assalam alykum sir, I've come to know from somewhere that Islam forbids keeping Parakeets as pets, is it true? Personally, i find birds very cheerful and would love to have them as pets but this ruling surprised me. What's the reason behind this strange ruling? Also, i've known since long back that keeping dogs as pets is also impermissible as the fariste of mercy don't enter the house, again how far is this true? I find this quite absurd though i'm sure Islam always has a reason behind all that it commands even if i can't comprehend. Please clarify so that i can follow my religion reasonably.thanks a lot Jazakallah khair
