Salaam alaikoem,Dear scholars, please can you tell me if a professional soccer player (football) can eat on the day he must play a match. Some people say that this counts on the exception of hard work. This soccerplayer earns his money with playing this sport. Some player eat on the matchday, but on the other days when there are trainings they fast. This question is important because hundreds of professional soccer players en other sportsmen in Europe have to deal with this dilemma. For so far there is no fatwa on this matter.
