The Reward of a Person who Intended to Fast `Ashura’ After the Dawn
Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Because we use the Gregorian calendar I did not know that the day of `Ashura’ had arrived until the morning of the day itself. I had not eaten anything, so I formed the intention to fast. Is my fast valid, and will I receive the reward of this day and receive expiation for the previous year? Jazakum Allah khayran.
