Does Islam allow the stigmatization of HIV/AIDS patients? Is it allowed for Muslims to treat AIDS patients differently than other people just because they have AIDS?

Is it right to pay sadaqah (charity) to AIDS patients, since many of them have contracted that disease due to unlawful sexual relationships? I would also like to know the viewpoint of Islam with regard to participating in the educational campaigns launched to awaken people to the seriousness of HIV/AIDS and how to protect themselves from the disease.

As-Salamu `Alaykum. It has been proven beyond doubt that AIDS is a dangerous epidemic. It is also well known that prevention is better than cure. Now the question is: what are the Islamic approaches for protection against AIDS?
