Age Difference and Marriage
Assalamu alaykumMy problem is that I am 24 years old and I am in love with a 27 year old Muslim girl. I asked about her and found out that she is religious, has a good character, is intelligent, have kind parents, etc. but when I told my parents that I want to marry her, they refused because she is older than me and said: it is haram to marry an older girl, no one will accept it, not the society, not we, and not her parents nor ISLAM. Moreover girls don´t want to marry a younger man - they need an older man and not a younger one. So forget this.Well what should I do??? Are my parents right??? Is it haram to marry an older girl, will the society, her parents and Islam not accept this marriage??? Do girls really don´t want to marry a younger one??
