`Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states the following: “Indeed, a Muslim sends peace and blessings upon the Prophet in Prayer as well as outside prayer as a show of respect and an obedience to Allah Who ordered us to send peace and blessings upon the Prophet in order to gain more and more rewards. However, we should not go into extremes by claiming that the Prophet is present everywhere as the Prophet himself don’t approve of this as this is against the core of Islamic teachings. In addition, our interpretation to the Arabic language should be within the limits of the Shari`ah.
Thus, our interpretation to the Arabic language should be in line with the basics of the Shari`ah, and the basics of the Shari`ah don’t in anyway suggest the presence of the Prophet in everywhere or that he is alive facing us when we send peace and blessings upon him in prayer. It is not even acceptable to imagine the Prophet looking at us while praying as such imagination is in itself unacceptable to follow.”
