First of all, we’d like to make it clear that the relationship between husband and wife should be based on love, affection and mercy. They should respect each other and deal with each other in a decent manner both in public and in private. They should set a good example for others in all aspects of live.
The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “There is nothing wrong in a husband and wife holding hands in public. There is also nothing wrong in expressing one’s love and appreciation towards his/her spouse. However, Islamically, it is not permissible for a husband and wife to have French kiss or normal kiss or to embrace each other in public.”
