Dr. Maher Hathout, Director of the Islamic Center of Southern California, states: “If the idea of the so-called beautification is to correct a situation that is deficient and if it is done to make the spouse (husband or wife) more satisfied and happy, and it is not done as a procedure of deception, I personally see no wrong with that and I would defer any jurist who is willing to think openly and progressively to make the family happier. If it is done for temptation or deception or for any outrageous behaviour, then I would be against it.“
