The focal point of concern lies in the fact that using a necklace by a man is like imitating a woman or being a bisexual. However, going by the injunction on necessity, if nothing other than the necklace or neck chain can be used to remove the extra charges, then the Shariah has no objection to its permissibility. Moreover, Sayyiduna Aabdur-Rahman bn ‘Auf complained of an illness and he was permitted to wear silk.
Narrated by the compilers of hadith (Canonical Books of Hadith), except Tirmidhi from the authority of Anas that the Prophet (peace be upon him) authorized Aabdur-Rahman bn ‘Auf and Zubayr to wear silk because of the itching they had.
