Sheikh Muhammad Nur Abdullah, President of the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) and member of the Fiqh Council ofNorth America, states: “There is no contradiction between qadar for death and being afflicted with an evil eye. If someone dies because of the evil eye, it is just a reason for the death that has been predestined.
However, a Muslim should always seek protection from the evil eye by reciting ayat al-kursi, al-Fatihah, the last two chapters in the Qur’an, and by reciting some du’a’ from the Sunnah.”
