On this issue, we would like to cite the response of Dr. Monzer Kahf,  a scholar in Islamic Economics and Financial Expert,  who said:

Replica items vary. There are those that are known as replica and they are not prohibited by law, these are permissible to buy and sell with disclosure of their nature.

On the other hand fake items that replicate original without any differentiation are illegal and are not permissible to sell and buy. These are usually presented as being original.

Furthermore, monopoly is not permissible especially in education and knowledge. so, if you live in a country that is poor and there is a monopolistic price of software that is educational or knowledge related (as opposed to business use), buying replica is not prohibited because it is the least of two evils.
