The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “It is not necessary or even recommended for a woman to cover the head when hearing the Adhan. There is nothing in the sources of Shari`ah to that effect. The ruling of covering the `Awrah are to be taken care of in the presence of non-Mahrams, when going outdoors and when going for Prayer, etc. The rulings of `Awrah has no relation to hearing the adhan. May Allah accept from you and us all good deeds, amen!
