All the acts and practices done in this manner fall under the category of bid`ah (blameworthy innovations) which have no basis or evidences in the sharia. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever does an action that is not part of this matter of ours (i.e., Islam), will have it rejected.” (Muslim)
