Responding to this issue, `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, stated that if a person is not able to pay Zakat Al-Fitr, it became a debt that he has to pay even after the elapse of the `Eid. Although, it would only be considered as sadaqah (charity) if paid after the Eid and not as Zakat Al-Fitr, because Zakat Al-Fitr has a time in which it should be paid in it, and its time has elapsed.
