Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Nadvi, Director and Imam of Al-Falah Islamic Center,Oakville, Ontario, Canada, states: “If this amniotic fluid would be taken when the woman is pregnant, which definitely would involve some kind of risk, it is unethical from the Islamic medical perspective. The purpose is not so important to expose a pregnant woman for such a risk in order to fulfil something that goes under embellishments and not basic needs or necessities.
However, if the amniotic fluid would be collected at delivery, when the water breaks out, there is no problem about it since it is going to be wasted anyway.“
