Dr. Sano Koutoub Moustapha, deputy chairman of the International Fiqh Academy and professor of fiqh and its principles at the International Islamic University, Malaysia, states: “Certainly, Islam is a rationale and reasonable religion. Accordingly, all prohibited items and deeds are meant to protect human beings and make life pleasant and safe. In addition to that, Islam urges Muslims to accept the creation of Allah with good faith and happiness.
In this context, Islam prohibits any change or attempt to change the creation of Allah unless for a medical reason. Accordingly, plastic surgery for the sake of beauty is considered prohibited and forbidden.
having said that, I would like stress that whoever finds themself in this situation needs to seek an advice from a trustworthy medical consultant about their condition. They might be suffering from some medical problems which will allow them to undergo some medical treatment. If that’s proven so, then they are allowed to undergo a plastic surgery as a medical treatment.”
