The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “There are no specific Qur’anic verses on the issue. However, there are Shari` rulings related to this case. This ruling states that as long as the blood that comes out has dark color and smell and it continued for no more than 10 or 15 days then this is considered menstrual blood and in this period a lady should not observe Prayer or fasting or touch the mus-haf.
Also, a lady in this situation needs to consult a specialist doctor on their case and take medication.“
