The prominent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Nadvi, Director and Imam of Al-Falah Islamic Center, Oakville, Ontario, Canada , states: “The hadith said that “there will enter Paradise seventy thousands or seven hundred thousands without reckoning.” The hadith continues: “Those people are those who do not treat themselves with ruqya, nor do they believe in bad or good omen (from birds, etc.) nor do they get themselves branded (Cauterized). But they put their trust (only) in their Lord” On that ‘Ukashah ibn Muhsin said, “Am I one of them, O Allah’s Apostle?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” Then another person got up and said, “Am I one of them?” The Prophet said, “‘Ukasha has anticipated you.'”
If we look at the number literally we will say that the number of those who will enter paradise without reckoning among the Ummah are seventy thousands, but if we look in the attributes of these people mentioned in the hadith it may indicate that these seventy thousands of those characteristics will be surely admitted to Paradise, and those who follow their example they will be considered among them. This is supported by `Ukhasha’s request to be included among them, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him he would be one of them.”
