Sheikh Muhammad Nur Abdullah, Member of the Fiqh Council of North America, states:
“After death, there is a life called al-barzakh, which is an intermediary state between death and the Day of Judgment. It is part of belief in the unseen, so we could only talk about what we have been taught from the Qur’an and authentic hadiths. As far as I know, there is no authentic hadiths to state that people meet and ask questions like what you mentioned in your question.
However, as Imam ibn Al-Qayyim said in his famous book, that people’s souls have different states and they can meet one another in the life of al-barzakh but nobody knows the way they meet and nature of discussion.”
