Sheikh Muhammad Nur Abdullah, ISNA President and Member of the Fiqh Council of North America, states the following: “It has been narrated in one of the Hadiths that if a woman wears perfumes she is supposed not to attend the masjid. The scholars have interpreted this hadith as referring to the prohibition of women attending the masjid when they were to wear perfume. The washing meant is to take the perfume away and not to do a complete ghusl. I do not know of any hadith that she has to make ghusl.
Therefore, the woman should not wear perfume or any similar tempting ornaments that cause distractions to the people attending the masjid.”
Can women go to the masjid if she wears perfume?
