Sheikh Ahmad  Kutty, A Senior Lecturer and an Islamic Scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states the following: “As long as a Muslim is not forced to do anything against their proper Islamic consciousness, they are allowed to serve in those agencies. If in this position their duties are strictly confined to investigating and averting violence against innocent people or nations, then that is perfectly justified in Islam.

However, if through any of their action they will be aiding and abetting aggression, murder and unjust wars, then that is clearly forbidden in Islam and no Muslim should ever consider serving in such an agency.”
